If you’re *still* obsessing over Jennifer Lopez’s People’s Choice Awards look, we get it. The actress looked out of this world in a red flouncy mini dress by Christian Siriano, paired with a classic red lip and gorgeous updo.
“Keeping with the theme of the night, I wanted Jennifer’s hair to be as iconic as she is,” Appleton told the outlet. “We snatched the front to show off her face and let the hair in the back do all the talking to complement her overall look.”

First, Appleton prepped Lopez’s strands using Color Wow’s Dream Coat Supernatural Spray. (By the way, he used the same spray to create her Super Bowl look!) Then, he blow dried her hair with a round brush to give it that sleek volume. Next, he sectioned off the front pieces to create a half-up, half-down look. Finally, he used the BaBylissPro Curling Iron to create those gorgeously thick curls.
Ramona Villanueva, a stylist at Boss Hair Group, previously told Prevention that the BaBylissPro has a mix of titanium and ceramic in the barrel to maximize heat protection. It also heats up to 450 ºF and “has a booster heat button for hair that needs a bit more heat,” she explained.
Reviewers love this curling iron, too. With more than 5,000 reviews and 4.5 stars on Amazon, people say it will give you “perfect curls.”
“It’s so easy to use and heats up quick,” one reviewer wrote. Another added that it works for all hair types. “As a woman of color with thick, processed shoulder length hair ... I was so so so pleasantly please with the evenly distributed heat, and how smooth and shining it left my hair,” one person wrote.
So, for just $50, you can get salon-quality curls right at home. J.Lo approved!
